Boss Accused Me of Interviewing When I Used PTO

Got blindsided by my boss who accused me of being “checked out” and interviewing for other jobs. I took two half-days and one full day off this week and truthfully told them what I'd be doing (not that it was their business) but today my boss told me it's suspicious for employees to take a few hours here and there and he accused me of interviewing. I am extremely confident in my role and got many offers when I chose this company for the work-life balance rather than higher pay elsewhere, so this accusation was insulting to say the least. I've been with the company 6 months and have already gotten a promotion (no pay raise ). I could easily get another job and have multiple former employees who would take me in if I needed it. I've been with the company 6 months and have already gotten a promotion (no pay raise ). I could easily get another job and have multiple former employees who would take me in if I needed it. I don't want to leave my current company, but this isn't the first time my boss has gone out of his way to emphasize that they know I could leave. Their insecurities are making me feel borderline anxious and extremely frustrated.

What should I do? I'm young, but very driven with a career path in mind. My last job worked me 24/7 and I just wanted to use a few hours of PTO at the place that claimed I could. Why did this have to become a conflict?

Any advice welcome.
