hired as an admin assistant (big red flag, I know it) and I’ve been avoiding this task since I started. I’ve gone between loathing and loving this job since I started working here, and lately things have been on the uptick. There’s a chance for me to move into a much better position so I’ve been trying desperately to prove myself and make friends with the right people, and it’s been going well.
but today, my boss asked me to clean out the fridge. they said there’s a big brown mess at the back of it and told me to have it cleaned by the end of the week.
we hire a janitorial crew that come every night to clean the office, my thought process is why can we not get them to clean it? most of my duties are strictly clerical, office manager type things. This just brings me down several pegs and I am back to loathing my job.
I don’t think I’m paid enough to clean up after fully grown adults so close to retirement it reeks just like whatever is rotting on the back of that fridge.
I almost vomited and quit on the spot when i had to clean out the kitchen drawers and there was an old sauce container that exploded in one of them.
I have a fucking college degree for gods sakes.
