My boss tried to have me come in today but our schedule was already posted and everyone else was able to have two days off. These last two weeks were hard. Because we're understaffed I've worked 7 days. and a day off then worked another 6 days. My boss calls me after work on Monday(yesterday) trying to say I come in tomorrow. I told her no, I'm scheduled off Tuesday and Wednesday. She told me there is not enough workers. I told her I already made plans to do house chores and I need to rest.( I used to work in the trades but I ended up getting carpal tunnel and now my entire arms will fall asleep if I over work my hands.) So today is Tuesday, it's my day off. I get a call from my boss at 8 o clock. Seems kinda late but she texts me that someone is quitting but I'm off tomorrow. I get another call from her at 9 on the dot. and a text after I don't answer saying to call her asap. I'm asking 1, this is weird right? and 2, how do I tell her professionally not to call me late at night. But my boss is lazy, she's always sitting on her phone scrolling through Facebook or she's going on her 50th smoke break. I'm a housekeeper at a nursing home. My boss has no reliable help except for me.The Most I seen her do is run the floor cleaner in the hallways. I am looking for a new job because my boss isn't helpful,the pay is terrible and working at a nursing home is terrible in general.
