Just got another job offer that pays me 60% more, offers benefits, will give me a starting bonus and 30k of stock and…my boss is incredulous that I took the offer.
I knew they wouldn’t match it, but went to them and told them that I received another offer and what it was. As predicted they couldn’t match it.
But when I said, in that case I’ll accept their offer. I’ll submit my formal notice by email after the meeting. Also I’m giving 3 months notice but they couldn’t understand why I would leave!
I was burning bridges and holding them over a barrel apparently.
