i’m an administrative assistant at a therapy office. there’s two other people who work on the admin side, and then like 20 therapists. my boss gave out bonuses for employee recognition a few months ago, but only to the clinical staff. we were excluded.
now she’s discussing end of year bonuses and says that it’ll only be for the clinical staff. admin staff is excluded again.
not to say the therapists don’t work hard too, but it’s frustrating we don’t get recognized for our work at all. we get cussed out by clients and their parents often, handle all the finances / insurance side of things, etc. and because of that, i know it’s possible for her to give three more bonuses if she really wanted to.
to be completely honest, i don’t entirely care about this job. i’m in college for an unrelated major and that’s my focus. incidents like this make me care even less about it. one of my co-workers is so passionate about this stuff, she’s in school to become a therapist and she goes out of her way to work hard. it makes me sad seeing her especially get left out.
