I worked for a really bad cleaning company with a high turnover rate for almost 2 weeks, and was about to quit until I had a paddleboarding accident and lacerated my hand on sharp rocks.
I was informed that I was fired in a group text for asking for a week off for a badly lacerated hand that has stitches and glue/I can't drive nor clean for 9 more days until the stitches are taken out.
In my short time there, two girls got fired, one for being sick the other for doing what I believe was only one “no call no show” for a flat tire, I was accused of being on drugs or stealing drugs from a co worker, insulted for having short “boy hair”, threatened to be strangled by a vaccum cable for accidentally packing away my co workers “favorite vaccum” and lied about to my boss by that same co worker who gets mad at me because I could only do part time. Not only that, they required me to use my vehicle with a meager gas reimbursement of $10 per week, regardless of what I spend to keep my tank full, which is asinine considering we drive 30-50 minutes between properties, go from 3 to 5 properties per day, and use almost a full tank daily. The hours are insane and we did not get paid breaks, were shamed or interrupted for taking breaks, and did 9 to 15 hour days. This one supervisor/co worker that made my life hell was VERY argumentative with me and scrutinizing me for every little thing, insulting me constantly. I mentioned I am disabled and she flat out said “no you're not!” and laughed. One of the girls who got fired and was sweet to me warned me to quit.
I keep in touch with her, and when I was fired, I told her everything. She then told me that supervisor does drugs in her car, hence the gaslighting/lying to my boss that I was “doing drugs”.
Tldr:
I fucking got fired from a toxic company just before I was going to quit and I couldnt be happier. Fucking shitty buisness.
