So I’ve worked at a family owned place for a month, and was doing a task while sitting on a, we’ll say, makeshift seat. Not a chair, but not something that was gonna break or anything.
The owner came by and told me to stand up while doing it cause I didn’t need to sit and it was a standing job. I politely asked “why does it make a difference?”. I’d like to emphasize that it did not make any difference to the task. Then he YELLED at me to stand up. He then came back a minute later with a manager and proceed to angrily rant in my face about America, freedom, laziness, and how I better not ask him why I can’t sit. In all of that he never actually gave a reason why I couldn’t sit or what difference it made. It was one of the most unhinged performances I’ve ever seen.
Someone tell me this isn’t normal please.
