Been working at this company for almost 2 years. Asked for a raise because I've been the top employee in sales the past 3 months in a row and inflation is making the prices get very high and I need to afford rent, food for myself and my dogs, and bills. Got told times are tough and that we could discuss a raise NEXT YEAR, and that maybe I would have more money if I didn't take 2 weeks off work (Took off to spend time with my parents who I haven't seen in a few years and came to visit and most of the 2 weeks I actually was paid because I had been saving my PTO). Told me that the company made less profits because of those two weeks of being off and that it's “not in their best interest” to give me a raise right now. This new regional manager has only been here 3 months and acts like he owns the company. I would love to quit but my shitty town has barely any other jobs that could pay what I need and my wife can't leave this town due to family reasons. I really don't know what else to do. I like what I do at the job, but management makes it a living hell.
