Boss laughed at me for asking for a raise

Been working at this company for almost 2 years. This new regional manager has only been here 3 months and acts like he owns the company. I would love to quit but my shitty town has barely any other jobs that could pay what I need and my wife can't leave this town due to family reasons. I really don't know what else to do. I like what I do at the job, but management makes it a living hell.
