Boss makes me wait for coworker to show up after I’m scheduled to leave.

So for context I work at a popular gas station chain and at my store we've been short staffed and have unreliable employees. Right now our hours got cut and I got the brunt of it and my boss is making it up to me by sending me to other stores that are far out of my way to “give me my lost hours I've requested for” I depend on someone else for transport and this makes it difficult for me, and on top of that I make barely above minimum wage and work part time because of school and my paychecks are for gas for someone's car because I can't possibly afford my own and food. I applied at my store for a reason, because it was close to me. But when I do work at my actual store I work 4pm to 10pm shifts but the 3rd shift…

I depend on someone else for transport and this makes it difficult for me, and on top of that I make barely above minimum wage and work part time because of school and my paychecks are for gas for someone's car because I can't possibly afford my own and food. I applied at my store for a reason, because it was close to me.

But when I do work at my actual store I work 4pm to 10pm shifts but the 3rd shift person never shows up when it is time for me to leave. Mind you I've lost my ride due to this and have to spend ridiculous money on ubers.

I have to wait until 11:30 for either him or my boss to show up and they both live only 5 minutes away from the store. I wouldn't even mind working till that time if it was scheduled, but when I have a ride that has no idea what time I'm getting out when they have things they need to do too, thats where it's a problem.. I have dealt with this since we've had our hours cut a month ago. But tonight I closed down the store and left. I have to be somewhere early and I warned my boss beforehand I need to leave on time. He swore up and down that 3rd shift would be there but he didn't for the 8th flipping time in a row.

I didn't say a word to my boss when he pulled in and seen me closing. This is the last time I'm dealing with this and I'm transferring stores as soon as possible, one that I've worked at and I'm appreciated at and actually get to have my hours and a stable location close to me. I don't know if I was in the right here and my family is telling me I was. But they all have that mindset of “you have to be the best and do exactly what the bosses tell you to do, and oh work every single day of your life too while you're at it”

But I'm sticking to what I did and I have a better opportunity so I don't care if I get fired. I was doing it for extra cash until I got into school. But thanks for reading.
