Boss not referring to me by new jobtitle

I’ve been at the same company as a lab technician for a few years now. At the beginning of the year, I was offered a scientist position at a different laboratory with a pay increase. HR counter-offered to match the pay and promote me to ‘Scientist’ so I stayed. Since the promotion I have been working really hard and taking on many new responsibilities but I have been enjoying the challenges. Despite this, my boss has persistently introduced/referred to me as ‘the technician’. It is disheartening because I am no longer in that role, and it feels like my boss wont acknowledge it. Am I overreacting? Or is there a tactful way to address my concern? Thanks in advance.
