Yesterday I took an offer with a different department in the same company. It is a slight pay raise from what I'm making now, nothing life-changing, but better.
Over the course of the last 4 months my current department has been “comparing” our pay to what the current market value is for our type of position. The results have been coming out this week and my boss refuses to tell me what my new pay rate would have been had I stayed in my current role in this department. Their reasoning is that it isn't relevant information to me anymore, even though I am finishing up in the department over the next 2 weeks and will be making that new dollar amount for a few days before transitioning.
What the fuck do you mean it isn't relevant? Of course I'd like to know how much this company thinks my time is worth, you donkey. Rant over.
