I had to let go of one of our technicians. During the firing he said he was gonna kill himself and then left. I ended up calling the suicide hotline to see what I should do. They suggested sending him their number. I sent a message with the number followed by, “If you were serious about what you said you should call this number and get the help you need.”
My boss told me that if he commits suicide now it’ll be because of the language I used while sending him the hotline number.
I stood up and walked out of his office and went home. Not sure of my next move here.
