I have a 23 year old boy who was diagnosed with Sarcoma two years ago, a rare form of blood cancer. Doctor says it's terminal and he has months to live.
I sent a text message to my boss notifying him I would be taking the day off for his oncology appointment on Tuesday, it's an important one and my kid is no longer able to safely drive due to his worsening condition.
He responds back saying we're going to be slammed Tuesday and he can't afford to find a substitute for my shift.
This was Thursday. I haven't heard anything since.
Going to really suck Tuesday when I don't show up and he hasn't found a sub.
