Compared to most on this thread this is small potatoes, but, my boss scheduled all the employees under me for 4 ten hour shifts, because we had yesterday off for Christmas. She was super impressed that she found a way to squeeze 40 hours out of them and not pay overtime since the 8 holiday hours are regular hours.
This is also the person who was bragging about advocating for a partial staff on our observed Christmas holiday. Thank goodness her boss said, um, no. She loves to dig in that she works 60 hours/week, but she's on a salary.
I just don't understand the mindset personally. The company also has an attendance point system, that as a supervisor I must enforce. So I have to “take” points from employees who are sick/have sick kids/have an unexpected absence.
The ugliness is I am not subject to the same rules, no one cares about my attendance, I get to take my holiday as regular, I do very little, but I make double what the employees under me make. It feels icky.
