It's not entirely true that the only thing that I get from my job is money. I get some satisfaction! But it's like 90% money.
Why would a manager be upset that I'm “only in it for the money”? He should be thrilled! If I were at work for self-fulfillment and I got a crappy task I would quit! Or if I didn't make friends at work, I'd quit!
But I'm there for the money:
- Got a boring task? Am I still getting paid for it? I'm your guy!
- Need me in meetings all day? Is it paid? I'll be there!
