Boss told me jeans were only for Fridays. I was very confused because when I signed all my forms the dress code said jeans were fine?

New job that I started just last week. When signing all my paperwork, it said that Office staff working behind the scenes, not interacting with customers are permitted to wear jeans .. And I definitely am not someone working with customers, and even said at the time I was happy with this dress code. I've been training for almost two weeks and today at the end of my shift my boss tells me that jeans were only for Fridays, but it was fine because “I was just training for now”. I am not sure if I should ask HR about it because there's an online handbook that clearly says the above, or if I should just ignore my boss and only bring up the dress code if he asks again. What do you guys think?
