At the beginning of august I broke my foot and was unable to drive into work for the entire month. I am able to do about 60% of my job from home so I talked with my boss and suggested that I get paid 7 hours a day, but monitor emails and be on standby for 10 hours (only actually working for 5-6 at most). I went to book off vacation time today and noticed that he used 5 hours of vacation pay every week to put me to 40h a week. I also got Covid while I was working from home and took 3 days off, which he paid me for using my vacation time as well, even though I had 3 days of sick pay he could have used. At no point did he ask me if I wanted to use the vacation hours or tell me that he was going to use them.
Is there anything I can do at this point to get them back? Will I have to pay the company back if I want the hours?
I’m booking a meeting with him tomorrow, and I’d like to go in to it knowing my options. Any information would be appreciated.
