Boss wants me to take on a huge amount of hours over the holiday season because they want to fire other employees without replacing them first

Me and another employee are being told to take on a huge amount of hours because my boss wants to fire other employees before hiring new ones to replace them. I need to “think about” my availability for the next several months, even though I have no foresight on what's happening the next several months. The way my boss phrased it made it seem as if they weren't actually going to hire until next spring. I'm beyond frustrated. It's not my job to cover shifts for fired employees because of bad planning. I require blood transfusions every 3 weeks and with the holiday season my nurses are all taking vacations, meaning I have to mold my life around their schedules until at least New Years. I've been repeatedly ignored on what my needs are to continue working and this is making it hard for me to see a future with…
