I work as a secretary on a team of 7 people. My boss (who I like) is trying to get our workload lowered by encouraging management to get more hires and trying to make the case that we are overtaxed and overburdened with work. As such she has consulted with a supervisor who has asked us to fill out a productivity log. Here is the problem. I resoundingly am not overtaxed.
IMHO I am quite good at my job, I keep the people I work for happy and i get the shit they need done quickly and efficiently. But the vast majority of the time (especially when working at home which is 6 out of 7 working days)… I zone out, play video games, and pet my cat while waiting for the next thing to do. As my pay is on the lower scale of secretaries in the city I live in, I feel this is entirely fair. My job as I perceive it is to do the things I am asked to do, and be available for the people who need me, when they need me. I have no interest in getting assigned busywork to justify my employment.
I know I can just sort of fudge the numbers on this log to a degree I have seen other threads here where it says add an hour to every task. Which I am definitely going to do but… even then its going to be a stretch to explain and justify 40 hours of a week. Has anyone had experience filling these out and not having any questions asked?
