I work 8-5 MTWF and 8-12 on Saturday at a privately owned small business in Western New York. This year, my bosses are giving us Saturday off for New Year’s Eve instead of the Monday after New Year’s Day, meaning we get 4 hours of holiday pay instead of the typical 8, and have to work a full day on Monday. We get Monday the 26th off for Christmas so I’m not sure why they decided this, but it seems like we’re getting gipped 4 hours of holiday pay. I know it’s not a huge deal but it bothers me. What days are other people working for small businesses getting off this/next year?
