Jair Bolsonaro has consistently undermined workers rights, specially during the most vulnerable part of the pandemic.
Today, his supporters are trying to retaliate against workers who voted against Bolsonaro, asking other business owners to fire whoever they know that voted for Lula (left wing candidate and one of the founders of the Workers Party). Since Brazilian laws prohibit employers from discriminating against political views, they'll fire people saying it's cost reduction or performance issues.
It's not unexpected. Capitalism would rather burn people's lives to the ground if workers are about to have more power. They'll overwork those who keep quiet and even those who think they supoort capitalism as well. And then, when their businesses fails, they'll ask help for the government, to be saved with the money that those fired workers produced in the first place.
I know this sub os mostly based on US job market, but it's important to bring you guys some perspective on how the fight is going on around other countries.
