breaks in ct

So I am a new manager in a retail store, located in Connecticut. This is my first ever management job and I suppose I'm happy to be in it. I do my best to care for my coworkers needs, this includes breaks. When I first started, I realized nobody really took a break. When I asked about it, I was told “everyone is entitled to a 15 minute break, but we don't really take them unless necessary”. I find that bullshit so I've been telling the people I work the same shift with to go ahead and rock paper scissor to take their 15 minutes after a certain time. They are all ecstatic about it which made me sad. I'm new to the state and haven't gone too far into the laws (I know I should) but are we all entitled to more? My old state required a 30 minute…
