My brother works for an auto body shop for a local chain of car dealers. He does not do the actual body work or customer service, he is more of a porter/ detailer. My car was rear ended in a hit and run and his shop was a preferred vendor for my insurance company. Long story short they did shoddy paintwork (orange peel, clear coat overspray) I did not realize this until a few days after I picked up the car. I had to take the car back for them to correct the mistakes took another week to do so a total of 6 weeks without my car. After I picked up the car a second time the system generated texts sent me a link to complete a survey. I was honest and said the customer service was great but the actual repair work was poor and had to be corrected. A few weeks later my brother mentions to me that because of my survey the body shop is not longer a preferred shop for my insurance company. He also said that the raise he was supposed to get was not happening now. Fuck that company for taking it out on the person who did not actually do a bad repair. They could have at least reached out to me after to survey to acknowledge my concerns/ learn from their mistakes but instead they choose take it out on my brother.
