I do pest control and I'm getting fired tomorrow. The company worked for has ridiculously high standards. I made sure all of my accounts met or exceeded those ridiculously high standards. Everything was cool for a couple months. Didn't even know I had a supervisor until I was about 6 months in. A few months ago they changed up routes and put me on a route where the other technician was doing nothing with his stops to meet the company standards. I would spend the 20-30 mins allotted to do the service and fix as much as I could (all the accounts needed double the time allotted to get them right, which wouldve made every work day 14-16 hours, which would be fine if i didnt have a wife and 4 kids i love spending time with). I'd always leave notes on the account asking for extra time next visit to get the account where it should be. Then I got covid. A supervisor took on my work for the week and complained every day to the area manager that I did nothing at these accounts. I was called daily while I was recovering to go over what was wrong at the stops, and every call I received made me a little bit more upset. I finally snapped at the boss and asked why he was calling me about stops I've only done once or twice, when the other technician who did it for years didn't do anything he was supposed to and is now in a supervisor training program. Noticed all my work was gone starting next week and when I asked the area manager about it, he was actually honest and told me he had to let me go because of these accounts and being very defensive. While I appreciate giving me a heads up on starting the job search, and the trust he put in me to not be a dick and mess up all the work I have for the next few days, or roll the vehicle down the highway in an act of revenge, I still think I was set up to be a fall guy or something. Sorry for long rant. Didn't want to leave a detail out. What are your thoughts?
