Giant corporate company has been pushing to get employees back to the office for several months. This idea is very unpopular with everyone except the CEO, which is obvious given no one complied with the soft launch of this plan in summer. Cut to this week and the CEO finally gets serious and sends an email saying it’s a mandatory thing, no more bullshit.—Three days a week per your corporate overlords. Everyone is pissed. We’ve had historic results in the past couple years since the pandemic and we did it all from home! Why the fuck do we have to come back to have the same video calls as I’d have from home in my pjs?? To make matters even worse, the company hosted a Manager’s meeting to talk about all this “rah rah come back to the office” garbage. I kid you not… ALL the presenters, every single one… including the fucking Chief HR Officer… WERE WORKING FROM HOME. I couldn’t believe my eyes. I don’t think they could have been more tone deaf and insulting if they tried. But I need a job so my ass will be there, having the same old video calls and pasting a smile on my face. Cheers to our CEO for making my work life balance a joke.
