Kinda just wanted to vent about these dumb questions that interviewers will ask that have no correct answer. Seems like a way for someone to just kinda talk down to or scold you. I don't get the point.
I was doing an interview for a Graphic Design position the other day, and one of the questions I was asked went something to the effect of, “Let's say you've just given a presentation and gotten no reaction to any of your designs. What do you do following that.”
I went the route of saying that the best thing to do would be to ask around – figure out why others thought the designs weren't up to snuff, start a dialog, and grow from the experience. Wanna know the correct answer?
“Well, you should really know the outcome going into it. What you need to do is talk to people beforehand to make sure you have at least one person on your side for the process.”
So I guess I was wrong for failing in the hypothetical scenario in which I had already failed. Hypothetically, I shouldn't have failed, and it's my fault for doing so in the first place? I'm so upset at my hypothetical self right now.
Anyone else have examples of no-win interview questions?
