I’ve been experiencing burnout quicker than before at the last 3 jobs I’ve taken since the beginning of the pandemic. I find myself slowly getting more pay, but between the inflation and higher workloads, the burnout hits within the first month.
This most recent job has paid me higher than anyone has, but they have no paid holidays or ANY benefits before 60-days. They weren’t completely truthful about their backlog of issues, they required me to travel out of state for a week to go through a 40-hour seminar on my own dime(reimbursement in 2 weeks), they began micromanaging during the seminar, and then once hands-on training began I felt my energy drain and the depression and anxiety kick in. I’m just starting my 4th week and I can’t physically bring myself to get ready for work.
I’m finally making $20+/hour but the inflation makes it feel like I’m still just making $17
I feel trapped
