But you made a commitment…

That’s what an employer told me when I put in my two weeks notice a while back. I was working a job that was taking a toll on my mental and physical health, and my family. It paid less than 16 dollars an hour and I didn’t even really get a lunch (Jobs will take everything from you, your time and soul, while giving you nothing in return). When I put in my two weeks notice, the boss said, “But you made a commitment and we are disappointed.” Look out for yourself. Life is short. It’s okay to piss people off and do what’s right for you. People will be upset when you do what is right or what makes your happy. Do it anyway.
