I’m in person rn and the place is empty. In an hour or so, a salesperson who is the primary authority figure over me will come in for a few hours with her son, who she is busy training to take over her business. I have to make sure I get in as early as possible because it will be piled on me the same as when I’m remote but with an obligation to fake socialize, where I basically hear about their wealth for an extended period and they ask nothing about my dreams and ambitions. The rest of senior management is either happy to be remote or comes in to do things like dine with clients.

Obviously, I’m a poor because I don’t seek enough in person mentorship. As soon as I’m remote again, I’m going to go back to doing all those useless things that make me so useless to society – being able to focus on the night classes I’m secretly taking to reposition myself, doing Zoom with my awesome manager to learn new programs that are essential to keeping our systems working, etc. How tragic I never applied myself by kissing up and asking for in person mentorship.
