The best parts from todays restaurant meeting:
- When the manager suggested to the wait staff that higher tips were about attitude, the owner jumped in to say forget about tips, think about making the customer happy; it's a mindset.
- Suggested the wait staff give out free food to customers, paid for using their tips
- While complaining about disappearing silverware, the manager said they'd personally spent over $500 on forks alone for the restaurant, suggesting…what exactly? I guess the wait staff should be paying for new tile floors eventually?
- They should push more alcohol on people (which is always partially out of stock).
To be fair, I understand the motivation of the owner for THEIR business to do well. Becoming a capitalist must be like a head injury or something. This person just can't figure out why YOU don't care about THEIR stuff as much as they do. Surely they care about other people's restaurants as much as their own? /s
