I (F19) worked at a restaurant for about a year and a half. I left temporarily to go to school (which was never an issue for my boss), and after I left, I got into some conflict with one of my coworkers because he was being obnoxious and racist online and I ‘liked’ a comment that called him out. I never said anything, I just pressed like. Later that evening (and over the next couple of days), said coworker’s in my DMs, exploding on me for being so “triggered,” telling me “don’t come back” to work and “nobody wants you to work here” because of the meltdowns I have when I’m overworked (I’m autistic w/ accommodations). Also, this guy was drunk, and about 15 years my senior. He’s rude to me and my other autistic coworkers, and this is probably the third time I know of where he’s harassed a former employee online out of anger (he did it to a 16 year old boy once).
I tried asking my boss if it was true that people wanted me gone and I sent her screenshots of the messages I received but she completely ignored me. I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if she’s on my coworker’s side but I at least expected a little communication from a fucking adult.
All that being said… with evidence, would I be able to get somebody in trouble for this? Or can I at least make them tell me the truth? I’m honestly fine letting go of this issue and forgetting about it because I have a new job and am moving away soon, but I also enjoy being petty, especially towards racists/ableists
