Can someone please shed some light on this matter? Should I take the “overtime” or stay home?

First, I am not sure if this is the correct sub to express my work issue. I saw a similar post prior to making this one and figured why not get some other opinions. Some context, the day after Labor Day I was called/asked if I could come work in exchange for having Friday off..I didn’t really have any plans of NOT coming in that day after Labor Day as I was scheduled but said “sure, why not” anyway. I work the day, all is fine and dandy. Fast forward today my supervisor came to me asking if I could come in on Friday due to a coworker being pretty much MIA these past few days even though he had said I could have it off. I wouldn’t have mind if I hadn’t expressed to my family that I was given the day off and made plans but now I’ll…

My supervisor offered overtime and yada yada but I personally do not want that.
