Can the union make my work place better?

I know most people just love American capitalism and hate Healthcare, education, time off, and just generally being treated with dignity. But I got a problem. My workplace is infested with favoritism, everyone with any power is literally having sex with or in a relationship with management. If you want to move up at all in the company, you better be close to them. I notice also certain employees get to sit around talking for hours on end with no consequences, but if I get up to say “hey can I borrow this?” I'm asked what the reason was for me moving lol. These ppl have cliques who literally stand in groups gossiping and shit talking. But if they are part of the favorites they are allowed to do so. I've pointed this out only to be shamed. Recently one of the favorites has threatened violence… he told one coworker…

Recently one of the favorites has threatened violence… he told one coworker he was going to punch him in the face, and same with another. The ppl who report it get fired. Instead of him, the guy literally threatening people, he gets a pat on the back and protection from management.

Recently, this thing called a union has been coming around. Their organizers sometimes stand outside the factory with signs.

But if you get caught talking to them, you're fired. This company does not give a shit if it's against the law to do that. What're you gonna do? Call the cops? This is capitalism my friend.

People say to just get a new job, but that's not that easy. I really don't understand the privileged logic of this sub sometimes “just get a new job” they say, on a sub called “antiwork”.

They had been gone a while, but recently talking to another coworker, they said the good old union is coming back to try to organize again…. even messaging employees on Facebook and such.

How exactly do I assist this process? Btw this union is part of a larger union that our other factories are part of. They went on strike not too long ago, and all their extra work was sent to my non-union plant with the bootlickers cheering that there is overtime cause they are filthy conservative class traitors.

Talking with my coworkers it appears most of them are very anti-union, greedy, shallow and selfish. So idk how this can work.

Any thoughts?
