I have moved into a new role at work and my traditional boss has asked I find time in the evenings to work on initiatives. Hes a very old school, micromanage type which is fine, however, his leadership style is starting to affect my personal time.
Im expected to work +15 hours during the evenings and weekends via “finding time to complete tasks”. I already skip all my breaks and only receive 20 minutes for lunch with my work load.
I work in finance for one of the big 5 banks from home.
The person in my previous role was terminated. Its a fear based leadership style on a team I committed two years to. I want to stay with the company until I retire. I am only 2 months into my role.
Any suggestions besides telling my boss off and losing my career?
