A few weeks ago my manager told me that I might be promoted to supervisor when my co-worker takes another position. Fast forward to today I am told that I am not fit enough for this position because I couldn't cover multiple people's shifts on short notice, and was not able to work 7 days a week. I am a hard worker and my schedule was agreed upon when I was hired. Co workers and customers know my work ethic. Other co-workers are younger people who barely give a shit about the job. These past weeks I HAVE been covering the shifts that were not on short notice, because I have a life, if you believe it or not. Once, I had two days off and came back to work a big mess and nothing was done. Boss comes and blows up in my face and I have to get yelled at because other people didn't do their job. Minutes later she is hugging me apologizing and talking about how other co-workers are not doing their job, and how valuable I am for their company. I am sick of getting treated like this, its like they are treating me like an object not a human.
