Can’t stand people who based their entire personality of their work anymore

My friend and I met in graphic design school during our last year of our bachelor degree and he is truly passionate about graphic design. I’m not. I always been left wing oriented and I just don’t believe in passion work. For me it’s just a scam to make us work more for nothing. We spent more and more time together and he just talk about his job all the time. I understood that at first and had admiration because he is really into something, but lately especially since COVID and with the state of the planet I started to dislike graphic design (and especially how passionate he is about that). The things that bothers me too is that, apart from this passion, he’s not really that interested to anything else not related to work. Don’t get me wrong I think being passionate about your work if you are in the law, social work, health care, cleaning or education is truly amazing because you are the backbone and heroes of this society. And also the skills you have are the best qualities any human can have it’s just so much more than serving capitalism. You truly help everyone.
I feel condescending and mean to judge his passion for work but I just can’t stand listening to him talking about a logo or a type for hours anymore and to be honest it can make me feel so out of place with designers in general sometimes because a lot of people from this field are found of their job too. Do you hide being a non passionated worker ? Should I talk to him more about my point of view ?
