Carvana waited until the end of the work day, the last day of their work week (they work 4 10s) to lay off all of their 2nd shift employees at their Tolleson Inspection Center. Right before the holidays. This is huge because this is their main IC; AZ is where HQ is located and most of their car sales, even out of state ones, use the address of this IC on the registration paperwork. Apparently this has happened across all of their ICs, but we don't know for sure.
My husband left the IC a couple weeks ago. He had been on second shift; all his coworker friends were affected and now they are stressing how they will make rent and how to tell their families. Everyone was told they couldn't take their stuff home and have to schedule an appointment to pick it up (tools and toolboxes).
Such despicable timing to let people go. They timed it so now they don't have to give out more of their worthless stocks as a holiday bonus.
