Just the title. Work every day, the most boring 8-9 hours ever while getting paid jack. So what do i think about? What to do for dinner! Man, with the mental image of what i have in my fridge, the only thing that gets me throughout daily life is what to cook for the night The best part is when i have leftovers: perfect! I just think about how great it'll taste after i finally get done with unnecessary emails, reports, and meetings. It's great because i don't even have to cook, leaving me just enough time to have no other time before i have to sleep for the next day. The commute back and forth (you guessed it: i work on site every day!) makes me savor the taste of my dinner before i actually get to eat it. You know what the best part is: I can barely…
So I work for a certain Big Red phone company as a Customer Service rep and have for the past 6-7 years. We have dealt with all kinds of nonsense over the years but the new new is a Key Performance Index called “NVPC,” or Net Value per Customer. This basically means they take into account how many lines we disconnect, how much insurance we sell or remove, how many extra products or subscriptions or higher plans we can get people to switch to, etc. Anything that makes the customer's monthly recurring charges higher, is a positive, anything that lowers their bill is a negative. Now, we've always had a problem with dishonest sales reps in stores, it is what it is. Since this change has been made however, the floodgates have opened. The amount of charges and extra features I have removed from irate customer's accounts who were straight…
TL;DR: I'm paying $350 a month, all utilities included, within walking distance of a college campus. When colleges closed down early in the pandemic, private sector student housing lost most of their tenants. To make matters worse, there was a MASSIVE expansion in online college programs, which means private sector student housing never filled back up, even after the colleges reopened. It's gotten to the point where the rent is cheaper, and you don't even have to be a student at most of these places. Some of them are even renting to people with criminal convictions. It's gotten that bad, and they're desperate to fill up rooms. If you live alone, don't mind roommates, and want cheap rent, then take a look at student housing. A lot of the private sector student housing is being absolutely ravaged by pandemic changes.
“We have the best perks!”
So my boss was meeting with us today and when she spoke about the war in Ukraine , she literally told me (an Iraqi) , you can ask him how the people in Iraq are OK with suicide bombers but we are talking about Ukraine! and I immediately interrupted and said what makes you think we are OK with suicide bombers? She said because there were news everyday about was a suicide bombing and car bombs in Iraq but this cannot happen in Ukraine, Ukraine is Europe!! I immediately left the room and sat alone at my desk, then after the meeting she came to my desk and asks to speak in private, I go with her , and she tells me and I quote” I am sorry if you felt bad for the things I said there , I meant the muslims in Iraq not you, since you are…
