Is this normal for an employee of HR? Shouldn't I also have the opportunity to speak with Employee Relations? As the claims are biased and unfounded. Please help me!
Category: Antiwork
I was sick for a week, my boss told me I was unreliable and put me down to part time with a very short notice (5 days before the next week). Do I have any retaliation or am I screwed?
Sonic waiters are on a tipped salary???
The sign said $20 an hr so I called and got to figuring out it’s a tipped salary with a base of $8 an hour. I just never realized that, I mean how many people have tipped at sonic ? Why is it so American to have to pay for the employees salary in addition to the price of meal?? GREED. shits outrageous.
Im at loss. Mat Leave/Lay off
Background. I’ve worked (Canada) for this manufacturing plant for almost 10years. Started from the bottom and worked my way to the top as supervisor. I hold the permanent posting. Two years ago they hired a man from outside the plant to fill in the role of shift supervisor on the other shift (we have two shifts AM/PM) which I trained until qualified. Later I found out that he was salary but I’m hourly and he won’t tell me how much he’s paid (which is fine, he’s not comfortable sharing), so I don’t know if we are paid the same? Now, I (28f) went on maternity leave last year and I’m about to return to work next week, BUT they announce that they are shutting down the PM shift and will lay off some of the personel. This means that only one spot for the shift supervisor is available and I…
Walked out today
Volunteetered for 3-4 hours on my day off and got screamed at all day by the manager, in front of customers, for trying to help stock (what I was originally asked to do) and cashier (they sent the cashier home for no reason). Then after all that, 2/3rds of the store just leaves and so I just left. You wanted shit stocked, that's done. See you on my next scheduled shift lmao
On call on the weekends
Hi all My situation is better than most here. I'm decently paid and a union member, and I vote for a party that supports unions. This morning, my GM said all managers (including would be required to have their phones on on weekends – if they didn't pick up immediately, they should at least be answering text messages reasonably promptly. Now… I've worked here for nearly four years and never been called on the weekend. My GM has maybe called me twice or three times after 5pm,and apologised whenever it's happened. So I don't expect we would get called very often at all. But still. To be on call every weekend – that's actually a big change. And, of course, no change in pay/allowances was discussed. Any thoughts?
So far today, I’ve received 7 text messages and 3 emails from boss about open shifts. This is a daily occurrence. It’s extremely annoying. If I wanted to pick up a shift, I would look at the schedule and then contact. It’s honestly anger inducing how many texts and emails I get daily
