I've been at Wendy's for awhile and it sucks. The people I work with seem to hate me because I've been promoted in a short period of time. I make sandwiches all night, am expected to scrub the floors, clean the fryer , clean my sandwich station and fridges, and clean both shake machines. I am also in training to become a manager . I am way over qualified for this position. I was willing to give it a shot. The other employees are so rude to me. I'll have a million sandwiches to make and need fry's and nuggets or whatever else and they will walk away and disappear. Leaving me to do literally everything alone. Exactly what the title says. The last 6 months have been hell. In 2021 I was on maternity leave and got made redundant from my highly paid, enjoyable corporate job when the company folded due to the panorama. I took my time looking for something new and applied for a local job…however it was advertised by a recruitment agency and they somehow persuaded me to take up a 6month position working at the agency as a recruiter. Wow. Recruitment is the most toxic industry I have ever encountered. The expectations on what one person is supposed to get done in 8 hours is insane, add to that disinterested candidates that job hop because they know they deserve better and you are flogging a dead horse. You will find that recruitment agencies make out they are inclusive and diverse but i was told to find young people and often told which…

Yeah I get it, the cost of living has a significant difference but hey stop paying us with $4 an hour and expect us to do tasks for a whole team. It’s barely making us live too. Edit: They CAN, but they WON’T

So I work at a company that sells food wholesale and you can go in the store in the cafe and buy stuff and put it in the fridge and Freezer until you leave. I had like 10 mins to kill So I went ahead and got the food out and showed my receipt to the guard and put the food in my car. But my work has your own key tag to scan to get in and get around work to open doors. So I went in behind someone else not wanting to let them know I went to my car while on the clock. The only legitimate protest against tipping culture is to not frequent restaurants that do not pay their employees a living wage. Otherwise, you are financially supporting the system of passing the paying of wages to the consumer. Anything else is just window dressing trying to justify you being a cheap piece of shit that looks down on restaurant servers.

If you have had a hard day, week, life and you just need a day off call in. No excuses just do it. Your physical and mental health are far more important than your job.
