When we see disagreement, and it seems like a genuine misconception or misunderstanding, we should try to convince and convert, rather than insult and reject. Don't engage past your own limits, but do put up a thoughtful and calculated resistance. Some people will drag things out to exhaust you, and some people are so rooted, they will not be convinced, but try to convince before throwing down simple insults. We are trying to build a movement, and we need as many supporters as possible. If you have been convinced or converted, tell us what did it.
I work at a bakery in a grocery store in California and currently the company is withholding our tips. The story is that our card readers got a software update in October 2021 in which we could start accepting credit card tips. As soon as we were aware of this, I asked the manager how we would be receiving our credit card tips? Would it be disbursed through our paychecks, or would the company send a separate check to us? The manager said he would look into it, but he kept pushing it off. In January, the grocery store came up with a solution to let us cash out our credit card tips from the cash sales we make at the end of the night. Okay this sounded good because we can start to cash out our credit card tips we’re making from now on. The problem is, what about…
In times of shortages and extraordinary inflation suspending this universally would help the poor the most easily and directly. Its not even the largest source of revenue for them…so….why?? Edit: The working class gets it from employers and from the Govt. This is why UBI should be a thing if they wont suspend crap like this.
