I started a new job about 4 months ago. I'm pretty good at it so far, the work isn't terrible and the attitude in the office is fairly lax ( they don't care what we do in our downtime, which there is plenty of ).
However, I work with almost exclusively hyper conservative people in my office.
I don't think my manager is.. he seems more middle of the road, but.. I just got done listening to a conversation about how the CIA and FBI are probably encouraging mass shooting to control guns, and that there weren't all kinds of mass shooting under Trump, blah blah blah.
You get the idea. Two of them are probably QAnon dipshits, they're all shit talking women constantly, and always shit talking “Democrat leftists,” yahdah yahdah.
This is a pretty big corporation. I've never worked at a big Corp that just allowed loud conversations disparaging women or political parties in office. I'm used to just keeping my head down, along with everyone else, and only finding out what someone thinks if we have a discussion on a break or outside of work.
I've worked with people with a lot of fringe right wing ideas before ( towing, telecomm ), but, I've never had to sit in an office and listen to their bullshit day in and day out. It's always been a situation where I either never had to see them, or could fuck off instead of listening to their propaganda.
How do you guys deal with this kind of shit at work? It just amounts to me having to listen to right wing propaganda between calls every day from at least 3 or 4 of my co-workers.
