I really want to leave a job I have been working in since I was a kid, but am terrified to tell my employer that I don’t want to work there anymore. It is a small place and a small team, but I feel dread every time that it is time for work and the hours aren’t so good either. There is loads of job opportunities where I live but to be honest I have been working 14 years straight and in that time hardly ever asked for a day off. What I really want to do is just take a break from the work force altogether, maybe that might be good for my mental health because for for years I have suffered from anxiety and other stuff that I am trying to deal with. Tldr- Afraid to quit my job that is taking a toll on my mental health.…

Where to look?
So I'm on the government's job bank, because I've given up with services like indeed. According to this same website the minimum wage is $12/hr, and the median wage is $26/hr for the area. Of the 400 jobs posted in my area, only 6 of them are at or above $25/hr. Mostly roofing jobs paying around $27/hr, the highest was insurance sales at $32/hr. The overwhelming majority are $12 to $14/hr. I even seen a couple $11.25s in there, guess the system doesnt automatically flag people who pay less than minimum. Lots of duplicate posts too, so its probably more like 300 jobs. My favorite one so far is Farm Manager: Responsible for purchasing equipment, feed, seed, and livestock. Responsible for maintaining all farm equipment. Responsible for all recruitment and training. Determine all crops to grow and livestock to raise. Organize and coordinate planting, cultivating, harvesting of crops; raising and…
Explain this to me.
I showed interest in a position opening in a different area at my work. I’ve filled i and done the job for the past year while they’ve tried to fill it. Had a couple people hired for it not work out so I decided to apply, they offer me the job buuuuuut at entry level pay meant for brand new hires, which is ridiculous considering I’d seamlessly transition to the position with out needing training and not to mention I’ve been with the company for 10 fucking years so all my performance based raises I’ve received get flushed down the toilet. I understood it was a slight step down but not a 5$ difference and be paid as new hire. So fucking dumb.
Finally putting my foot down with pay
I’m a college student but have been working with this popular clothing retailer for four years now. I have been in a management position for over two years. I have barely seen a reasonable raise. I make a few more dollars an hour than I did when I started out at minimum wage, but it’s still not enough to cover cost of living. Many managers work 2 jobs and make more at the other one. Three of the five managers are making under what most retailers give starting out to cashiers. It’s sucks because my job is easy going some days and others it’s a lot to handle. I train new hires, sell like I’m on commission, do business side stuff, attend conference calls on my days off, I have a 45 minute round trip on days with no traffic. I tried to transfer to a closer location but I…
Taking advantage of teenagers
So let me start this out by saying i was 16, from the UK and had just passed my GCSE exams with pretty stellar grades, (mainly A grades, and a couple of B’s). I applied for a job working as a maths and english tutor, which was advertised at £10 an hour, and when i turned up for the interview, as i was under 18 they offered me £5.45. Me being a stupid kid, with no real work experience, didn’t understand how much bullshit this was. (Apologies for any poor formatting, i am on mobile, at work, writing this from the can) We were expected to tutor zones of 6 kids, for 1 hour, for £5.45. This works out at £0.90 per kid per hour, not to mention we were expected to take notes on all of their sessions, write down things for them to work on, feed back to…
Looking to quit my job in NJ, any way I can collect unemployment? Is there a wait period for quitting or can I “leave for another job” then get laid off from new job and collect on previous jobs higher wages
Am I wasting my time?
I've recently received the first part of my bo is, and the HR lady handed me a paper showing me when to expect the next half, which is said to be arriving next month, am I wasting my time waiting for this bonus, despite already planning on quitting, after getting it?
