I’m thinking about Quitting my 9-5 & doing Upwork for freelancing Computer programming contracts/gigs.

I'm self teaching myself on the side as far as computer programming languages , also doing various personal projects to improve my knowledge & build a portfolio. Please note im not quitting my job tomorrow or anything , I am not starting my Upwork journey until & am skilled enough to the point where i wouldn't make as a shitty temp worker. I heard through some friends & classmates that Working through the freelancing site “Upwork” is a nice alternative & that freelancing jobs are on the rise versus your traditional 40 hours a week hourly job. So just wanted some input , have any of you all every worked through upwork.com ? & if so how was your experience ? just curious before I fully dedicate myself words this path , thanks again .

If you gotta work…

Then find you a good one and don’t settle! Been wanting to post this for a while but now finally am ready to share some thoughts [burner account]. Background: me, fairly intelligent, hard working, some college (basically bachelor level w/o the paper), passionate person who really tries to do their best each day. Worked for 7 years(!) for a company that would absolutely never let anyone advance. It was flexible so whatever, it worked at the time. Quit after an ex-employee tried to run me over in the parking lot (story for another time) Took another job that seemed great at first but soon came to find that every single day I pulled into that parking lot, I’d rather just die right then and there. Toxic, terrible mission, stale, depressing environment. After a year of that depressing job, my partner and I couldn’t take it anymore, dropped everything and up…

Your boss makes you film videos for promotional purposes but you’re not comfortable doing that but he also pays you good money. What do you do?

The whole idea makes me cringe and it’s not on my list of responsibilities nor do I work in sales/marketing but he kinda insists. That being said, I’m happy with the remuneration which is why I always do what is expected of me but I also get anxious just by thinking about it. Thoughts?

What is a satirical joke that is made about your line of work?

One that applies to my line of work. How does a company treat it's engineers and scientist? It treats them like mushrooms. Keep them in the dark and feed them sh*t.

Tired of work

So I’ve been working at a hotel kitchen for the past 10 months and I’m so over it. When I started working there I was doubted on my skills from the very beginning. The chef made it seem because I am a girl I can’t do my job. My thought process was always if you doubted me why did you hire me? Whatever I stuck through it even though the food wasn’t that great either. Well a few month later I found out I was pregnant and that I was covid positive. I had to quarantine for two weeks. Finally I got back to work and of course with my luck my second day back I get in to a car accident. So now I’m pregnant trying to catch up on my bills with no car. Mind you im still making it to work while recovering from the accident and…

Applying for another job.

When you guys are applying for another job, do you use your current job email or you use your personal? I feel like it might add the impression of professionalism to use a work email but on the other hand using a work email to check other jobs could possibly blow on my face if the employer takes notice. ( I don’t think they check my work inbox in a 50k+ employee company but who knows ) What do you think?

So tired I can barely move

Is anyone else just completely burned out? I feel like I've aged 20 years in the last 2 years. My blood pressure has gone higher even though I lost weight, dealt with numerous aches and pains that made is difficult for me to even do short hikes, and honestly doing redundant tasks is just feels like torture now. I realized I really have to get back to living a normal life again in 2022 but I think the effects of the last couple of years will not completely go away soon and it may take years to fully heal.

Passive Income > Work (How I make $3000/month in Passive Income)

If you already are into the crypto universe, then you know what I'm talking about. Decentralized financing is providing financial freedom for so many out there right now. I've been invested in DRIP for a few months now and making close to $3000 per month in passive income after making back my original stake. AND my deposit still grows every month because of compounding interest. Sound to good to be true? DYOR. I'm not a financial expert. Just a guy who is done with work and has made some plays to purchase a new car and relieve myself of burdensome student debt this year. Drip website: https://drip.community/ Here's is some great information on the coin and protocol: https://cryptozoa.com/drip-an-introduction-12bf9b4dd9f9 https://cryptozoa.com/everything-you-should-know-about-drip-the-essential-drip-reference-v2-4d4e09bd7162 You also need a buddy referral to sign up when you deposit into the drip faucet. I'd love it if you could use mine! I'm building a small, like-minded, positive team…
