This I don’t understand. I called the local Chinese restaurant to order dinner, I ask for delivery. The guy on the phone says they don’t deliver anymore, OK no problem Ill pick it up. I get to the spot and notice there are only 2 people working there (the father that owns the business and his son) and a very prominent NOW HIRING sign displayed. I know this is a family business, I eat there often and I know the people that work there and they told me they are all family. Since they were understaffed there was a line out the door. I added up the totals of the people in front of me, I was in line for 10 minutes and they took in over $500 in that 10 minutes. They literally are family and they don’t pay enough to their actual family to retain their employees. This…

My experience working for billionaires.
I have been working an awful job for the past 8 months. Here is some things they have done to me in a short period: Gave me the same contract as everyone then a week later did a switch and bait on me and gave me a contract with ZERO benefits. No early finish on a Friday (leaving me to be the ONLY person on site until 5pm), worse hours, more responsibility for no pay Approved my holidays then refused them when someone went sick Forgot to pay me 3 times in a row, putting me into debt with my LL Blamed me for everything wrong any director did, although i passed my probation with flying colours and no complaints Bullied me relentlessly, made me feel stupid Didnt let me take Christmas Eve off even though everyone else was entitled to it, so again left on my own Constantly put…
Bizarre response to a counter-offer
tl;dr employer got super offended when I countered their salary offer, the firm said I wasn't being honest, and demanded I take or leave the offer. Spoiler I left it. I applied for this job originally when I was unemployed in May 2021. I was not called or interviewed at this time. On my application I was asked for my salary requirements, I listed 50k. In June 2021 I got a job and I still work it today. January 2022, I got an e-mail from the company asking me if I was still interested and I said yes. They asked me to fill out another application, I listed 60K as my salary requirements. Teams interview in late January well, without disclosing salary for the position I was asked what my salary requirements were and I said “60k-65k” Last week, they offered me 62K. I said send me the documents and…
