Throwaway to protect myself. I joined this company over a year ago and had a terrible manager. I was doing his job along with mine for 6 months until people found out and he got fired. I was promoted when he got fired and was given a small 20k pay bump which put me at 110k. My role in-market pays a lot more than I get paid but I figured they would eventually hire someone above me to manage my team. Since my promotion I’ve taken on additional responsibility, hired and trained employees, managed employees, led the team, improved process & systems procedures and have helped drive the business forward substantially. I’ve basically been one of a few people to really help steer the ship in the right direction. My most recent review was glowing. I was reviewed by mostly VP & executive level people who mentioned I was invaluable…

PSA before you quit your job.
Make sure you're worth a damn to us hiring folks. I've had so many applicants this last couple weeks, that I needed to take down the job offer to get through them all. Of over 100 candidates, I'd say 70% of them had either insufficient experience, or 0 experience at all. Half of the interviewees told me they quit their last job because of wage indifference. New hires got paid more than they were. Yes, that sucks, but when I hired one because she had great communication and availability in our interview it blew up in my face. Her former employer took her from 40 to 16 hours a week, abd she said it was her school's schedule. Nope, she just cant tell her ass from a hole in the wall. Instructing her is useless, she's college educated but can't seem to land a job in her field. Well, today…
Thanks guys!
Thanks to your movement I can get hired in my are instantly it’s cool that I get overtime too
what's the curtesy?? i dont mean lowest wage. What jobs are “easy” enough to sell your time for min wage? in terms of easy, intermediate, hard, and ultra hard, would your NET worth change? edit: I don't want you to tell me what the values of this group are. I actually just want to compare everyones ideas on wages and wage distribution. I think you can either argue that everyone gets the same nomatter what role they have in this community, or that some people get more than others if their role is hard to find and needed in our community and that way you encourage others to go there. Like what do U think should be the CEO's of a huge company that makes a lot of money NET worth….' EDIT 2: Switching word “worth” for “net worth”

Fair market work for fair market pay
From 2019…oh boy…
Stumbled upon this article from Dec. 2019 today. Interesting read from todays' perspective. I feel like this is (part of) what has fueled all the rage about billionaires not paying a fair share of taxes. TCJA 2 Years later
He was getting out of his brand-new Lamborghini when I said: “Hey, that's a really cool car” He answered: “Thank you! If you work hard, apply yourself, and work extra hours, next year I might get another.”
