Thank you to this community r/antiwork. I’ve following and learning from this subreddit for a while now. And it inspired me to put my two weeks notice in and get a job that has better hours and benefits. I’m very excited for my new job. Like yeah I wish I could just live in the forest sustainably and off the grid. But that’s not in the cards right now.
I would just go straight to my next job, but my current place is kinda small. I know for a fact that there are multiple people applying and calling to check on the management’s response to their applications, and being ignored. So the business will be fine.
I’m staying the two weeks for the benefit of my coworkers. I don’t want them to suffer cause my boss is getting burnt out and taking his frustration out on employees. I’m also not going to put up with a boss who messes my schedule up after I told him multiple times that I have school, medical appointments, and don’t want a 9am shift when I have a 30 minute drive to work.
I’m not sure what else to say on this. Just recording my thoughts. And saying thank you for the lessons here
Edit: I have more problems with this place than my boss repeatedly messing up my schedule, and even more than what I’m listing here. Like I want PTO, health insurance, a livable wage, enough staff where I can go on my 10 minute break and not have to listen for it it gets busy. Cause if it gets busy I have to go back early from my break and work – or I get a talking to
