Saw my CEO uploaded a new vid while I was on vacation and watched it this afternoon. CEO starts by talking about how tough the last year has been, how we’re in a financial hole, addresses the board directly saying how they need to temper expectations. I’m thinking, “Oh boy… here come budget cuts and layoffs”.
…then comes something that catches me completely off guard…
CEO talks about how remaining competitive is important, how employees are facing unexpected struggles due to the pandemic, inflation, etc., and then proceeds to announce… across the board raises, starting rate increases, additional benefits… nearly everything you would least expect after a lecture on “how hard things have been for the company”.
Rare to see, but that’s what leadership should look like; that’s how you treat the people who keep the wheels turning.
Refreshing to say the least, so just thought I’d share with you all.
