Anyone else have a pet peeve of customers wanting to hang out and talk to you?
I'm not talking the regulars who are kind and ask how your days been, or idle chat about the weather waiting for their stuff to me made/rung through. I'm talking the ones who want to tell you their whole life! I just want to go to work, do my job and go home, I'm not looking to make friends with someone over the purchase of a chocolate bar or energy drink. These customers will tell you how they are probably regulars but you've never seen them before, and everything from embarrassing stories you never wanted to hear to the dumbest of shit again you don't have time to hear. It just drives me insane. Is it Jeff Dunham that says “welcome to walmart, get your shit and get out”. I feel like I embody that ideal!
What brings this on, is once again, tonight after close a lady decided to use the washroom and refuse to leave the store for 2 hours after closing all because she was lonely and wanted to chat and charge her phone and be a nuisance and make a mess.. (I work overnights and sell from a pay window on the outside of the store, so customers aren't supposed to be inside, so inconvenient but not holding me up from home time, just put me 2 hours behind on cleaning). Okay that's my rant. I'm sure no one will read it peace and love retail workers
