I was at the grocery store today and noticed that in addition to the regular and organic raspberries there was a stack of boxes labeled ‘sweetest batch’ for $3 more that were filled with perfect plump bright red berries. So Driscolls is paying workers to pick the best berries out of the normal packages and sell them to wealthy folks at a premium. Normal people will continue paying the same for the normal box of berries, but it’s an inferior product now as the best ones have all been picked out. Didn’t think we’d have class segregated berries but here we are. Just another reminder that the system does not work for normal people.
